“Maase is a Master Instructor” -Guitar World
I am the eldest daughter of legendary guitarist and educator Steve Maase (1946-2016), who began showing me the family business when I was just seven years of age. I have been teaching privately and as a clinician for 22 years and continue to work within the family theory system we developed together over the decades.
The Maase Family Method is the product of a combined 70+ years of self-paced teaching, practice and research. This method has been adopted in part by the MAP/Experimental Pop department at California Institute of the Arts and has served thousands of guitarists at all levels and in all walks of life since the 1960s. Many of these guitarists have gone on to careers in music of their own; still others have studied with us for decades out of sheer love of the instrument.
I began offering Skype, Facetime and Zoom lessons worldwide in 2017 and have continued to do so over the course of the pandemic. Because I had a bit of a head start–and the great benefit of technical and logistical support from CalArts–my studio is thriving in at the middle of an extraordinarily challenging time.
